I did something this morning that I have never done before. I stood with two of my friends in an upholstery shop demanding her furniture back! Apple Dumplin' and I borrowed our Husband's trucks to help Saggy Boobs pick up her furniture she didn't have a check to pay for. I know... it sounds odd that we would be demanding the furniture back if she didn't have a check, but that really is a long story (too long for this post). Today she had a credit card and she had also gone by the bank to get a cashiers check (because she is OUT of checks). The reupholster man suggested to her that next time she writes her last check she needs to reorder - Novice Idea!
Anyhoo, there we stood with our arms crossed ready to haul her furniture back home. The man was flustered that she had come with her own transportation to get her chaise and chairs and said he would not accept her payment. Saggy B then turns to me and says we are going to need some backup (referring to my brother-in-law who is a Sheriff's Deputy). Lawsey-Mercy we get ourselves into some drama! I walked out of the shop and started to call him... reflected on the situation and thought we can handle this on our own. I went back in and she was still hashing it out with the guy. He was relentless, but needless to say we were too and eventually he took her credit card and we started hauling the furniture onto the trucks.
I feel confident it went without saying the three of us would not be sending any business his way. We then dropped the furniture off at her house! WOW, all in a days work of this stay-at-home-mama!
Don't forget to get your free taco between 2-5 today! I think we'll have snack there after school! :)

Monday Moments
My girls were home sick today, so I spent a lot of time on the computer and getting housework done! I found some great deals at RiteAid this week, but not much of anything at CVS. I will update you on my WalGreen finds tomorrow!
I have collected several tubes of toothpaste and I am looking into sending a care package to Any Soldier. When I read the website I got very ?!?#?@?*?... my heart really goes out to those Men and Women and their families back home. If you have family over there please email me. I really want to send some of my freebies and add to the package whatever they specifically need!
The girls and I baked banana bread this morning! It smelled so good! They just have a cold, but I really did not want to spread it around so we stayed in another day! It was nice having them home all day! I am not thinking about homeschooling...just enjoying their company!
We got together with my Hometeam BFF's last night! I love you guys! We miss some of you! Hopefully everyone is moved in and their Grandmother's are better!
I did Find this 3M coupon today! For all you guys looking for a bargain!

Happy Fall Ya'll !!
Husband and I are packing for a short getaway! The children and the dog are dispersed throughout the county! They are so excited about spending the night out on a school night! Of course I worry about all of the test they always have on Friday, but we studied hard Wednesday night!
Everyone got their report cards this past week and they were AWESOME! Only one of the girls had 2 "B" the rest was all "A"!!!!! They all try so hard! I am so proud of them!
I am taking my camera on the trip and plan on actually reading the manual! I have never wanted to take photography seriously, but now I do. I just want to learn how to take decent shots and what all the terminology means! If you know of a course or a good book please let me know!
Husband has won an award and I am so excited for him. This is the first time we have ever been on a trip with this group that he is a part of. I look forward to telling you all about the trip! Have a great FALL weekend! The weather here is cool and crisp! FINALLY! Go enjoy the great outdoors! We are having our annual bonfire and wienie roast at husband's Dad's on Saturday! The children love going out there. Happy Fall Ya'll!!

Where Have I Been
I know I have not been posting good stuff lately. Well I'll show you where I have been...
I have been at the BOOK FAIR! My BFF worked with me today and took my picture with the new camera! Oh I can tell I am really going to enjoy bloggin now! Tomorrow we close that Bad-Bear down at 12 sharp! Sometimes the thing just drags on and on! I know PTO is a huge support for the school, but what was I thinking Chairing the thing? Fortunately this is my last year! Please don't tell the girls school that I'll be available next year :) ....
Check out what I sent the girls to school in today...
It is Red Ribbon Week (Drug Free) and today is tacky day. Do you think they'll win the prize? Look at all of those stripes! They wore two different shoes and loved it!
Tonight we have soccer and I hope to take my first action shots! The girls are so athletic (my side of the family, wink ;0) It is always fun watching them! The boys on the opposing teams think they are fragile because they are girls, but they will take those boys down to the ground if need be! Just like their Mama!!! Come back tomorrow for more photos!!

Savings NUT

I finally sat down and looked at my actual spending and saving! OMG...I have really done well! For the entire month of October I have saved 46% of what I have spent. My best trip was to CVS last week. I spent $76 and only paid $4.15 cash!!! Husband was shocked. Had he not seen the receipt I know he would not have believed me. I have not receive my camera yet. There was a mishap with the order. Hopefully I will receive it by Wednesday! I plan to take a picture of my future savings once I am able to upload them easily!
This started out as FUN and now I feel competitive with myself! I have to save more than I did last week! Who knows where this is going! May be a fad or a new way of like.
Last Friday Husband was off and we ran in Belks. He was looking for new shorts since he now needs a 34 (brat). I am proud (jealous) of him. I found our son bathing suit trunks for $1.98. I picked up three pair for next year. Husband thought he had found the best deal with his $9 shorts, but I had him beat!!! I am seeing my competitive nature from all sides lately!!
I need to get cooking again! I have been saving all this money and not cooking! I promise a new recipe post soon!
Okay, here are my final tips from last week...
MANAGE YOUR CO-PAY
If you have prescription coverage with a co-pay as part of your health insurance, ask your doctor to write your prescription for a three month supply. Sometimes you can just ask the pharmacist for a three month supply also. If you make the purchase this way, you’ll only pay one co-pay rather than three at the pharmacy.
THE END FOR PAPER CLIPS
This is a tip for finding the end on a roll of masking tape or packaging tape. As you cut off the last piece, put a paper clip under the edge so it won't stick back down on the roll. The next time you need to use the tape, just lift up the paper clip and the edge or end of the tape will be easily found. No more wasting time hunting for the beginning of the roll.

Sweet Rewards
I told you I am now experimenting with rebates. Well if this works I am SOLD! I have copied some of this from Crystal, but to get her entire post read about this: Walgreen's Spa Special
When you purchase Wyeth participating products at Walgreen's this month and send in your proofs of purchase, you earn spa rewards. If you purchase two participating products, you earn $50 in spa rewards. If you purchase 4 participating products, you earn $100 in spa rewards.
Here's the best part! Robitussin cough products are one of the items participating. The Robitussin cough syrups are on sale for $3.99 this week. Go here and print out a coupon for $3/1. Guess what? They are then only $0.99 which is a good deal anyway.
But, if you buy four at $0.99 each, you can also qualify for $100 in spa rewards. So that would be $4 for $100. Not a bad trade-off!
I did not have any problems printing it out four times and the clerk was as sweet as she could be about my four coupons! I also got four rolls of tape for $2 and I had a $1 off coupon for Pepcid so I am also going to submit that for a rebate and get $3.99 back (I only paid $2.99 so I will make a buck because of the coupon)!$!$!
Anyways, last night when my Mom called I was plotting out my plan and I shared it with her. She wanted to know what Spa it was valid at. When I pulled it up, it did say there was one in my town as well as hers. We started laughing because my town is so small. I told her you have to redeem it at Publix in the Pharmacy area, where they normally take your blood pressure... We got a big laugh out of that! Hopefully it will be decent! But for $4 I think I will take my chances!
Check it out! If you get a certificate maybe we can go together!!!!

I Have Gone Over The Edge...
Spent the day with my Mom and Sister Monday! We had lunch and I took Mom back to the Dr. for a check up! She is doing good! Thank you for your prayers!
I have completely consumed myself with COUPONS over the past two weeks. I know I have gone extreme, I know I have! But I also know it is a passing fad for me. Anyways, Sister and I clipped coupons from the weekend and we got her coupoon pouch organized. I shared many of my prize possessions with her - you would be SOOO proud!
Mom kept the children overnight since they had the day off! So what did Husband and I do when we got home from dinner? We ORGANIZED MY COUPON POUCH! I know that's not what you thought I was going to say, but this a "G" rated blog! He seemed to understand since I always have a pair of scissors in my hand! But I had to...Kroger had sent freezer coupons in the mail and I had to get them in the right spot...
It is a sickness, but I am working on it.
Here is a tip for you non-coupon-clippers:
(Before you read it, can't you hear Ron White saying cupun....) Sorry!
Whenever I go to the grocery store, I put one of those hand baskets in the child seat area of my cart. As I shop I put anything I pick up that is not on my list in the basket. This way I can easily see my impulse items and evaluate them before I get to the check out lane. There are always some things that I don't really need so . . . they get put back.
So if you don't clip atleast CONTROL YOURSELF!
If you want to get in on the fun check out this site for great savings this week at Walgreens!

Today is the Day!

Reminder: October 12-19 is National Feel Your Boobies Week...
Did you know that the chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman's life is about 1 in 8 and that women living in North America have the highest rate of breast cancer in the world? Currently there are about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Fortunately death rates from breast cancer have been declining due to earlier detection through screening and increased awareness, as well as improved treatment. You can help the reduction in breast cancer and in finding a cure by helping raise awareness during the month of October which is the Breast Cancer awareness Month.
The "C" Word
There has been so much activity with my family over the past two months. I have been slow to post about my Mom. She is doing better and I thought I would give an update.
Mom was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer around Labor Day Weekend when Husband was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. She has had trouble with her back and neck since a wreck back in January. They did all types of test to discover she has a spur between the 5th and 6th vertebrae. She will probably have surgery for that before the end of the year if all goes well. During all the testing they discovered a mass in her thyroid and did several biopsies. Last Friday they removed all of her thyroid except for a tiny amount that was on the opposite side from where the cancer was. Now I do not have the path reports but we know that of all Cancers this was the one to get. It was found very early and was slow growing so everything about it was "Good."
She will go to an Oncologist in the next two weeks to have her treatment plan written out. We know she will have an iodine-chemotherapy-blast-pill-thingy that will kill the remaining thyroid tissue. She will experiment on medication until they get her "regulated"...
She has been out of work now for over two months. Her spirits are high, but I know she is nervous about the next surgery. She did amazingly well!
I have a funny to tell. After they completed the FOUR hour surgery they sat her up to put a compress on her neck (she was still out). When they did this, her double chin/skin got taped onto the compress. Later she kept complaining that it was hard to swallow and we explained that she had had a breathing tube in and it just made her scratchy. Well, she stayed a second night and the swelling went down once they took her off the IV fluids and I could see THROUGH/UNDER her chin. OMG...OMG.... I realized they had taped her chin skin to the bandage! Fortunately once I realized this and scared her the Dr. walked in. He was embarrassed that his staff had taped her up so badly! It was funny, but boy she sure did appreciate her new "pain" once the tape was off!!! It was not as bad as what she was experiencing before!
Please keep praying for her! Now that sister lives real close to her we all three get to see each other a whole lot! I am so thankful we are close! Husband is doing good. He goes back for a scope test in December and will every three months for a year. They described bladder cancer as a bad weed. It will probably grow back so we will keep checking for it! Thank you so much for all your prayers and cards! I love my friends and family!!!

He goes back for a scope test in December and will every three months for a year. They described bladder cancer as a bad weed. It will probably grow back so we will keep checking for it! Thank you so much for all your prayers and cards! I love my friends and family!!!
