Mother's Day

I hope all of the Mothers had a beautiful day yesterday! I did!!
We went to church and then made our rounds!



Twin M Caught a huge wide mouth bass at her Grandpa's house! My girls were having the best time fishing! Son rode his bike everywhere and loved it! We have a long gravel driveway and they do not understand why we did not pave it ?$?$?$?$



Each of the children wrote me a very special thank you note for being their mommy and Husband framed them! I will treasurer them forever!!!!
Sorry about not blogging in a month! We have been so busy. I have taken on PTO at the girls school and it has consumed me! (but I let it) :)


I get to visit my mom and sister in the morning! Looking forward to that! Can't wait to get my hands on those little chubby cheeks! My nephews!!!

It's Been Forever and a Funny

Wow it has been a while! Husband is home, still under the weather, but home now! Children have had piano recitals, Fastest Kid (Track Meet) and so much more. The day light hours are getting longer and so is my to-do list!
I enjoyed this and thought you would too!!

The next "Survivor" series:

Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids each for six weeks.

Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes

There is no fast food.

Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, and complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money.

In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week.

Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives, and send cards out on time.

Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment.

He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the Urgent Care.

He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function.

Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.

The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done.

The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed.

During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at least once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting.

They will need to read a book and then pray with the children each night and in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and comb their hair by 7:00 am.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name. Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up. The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right to be called Mother!

Over the River and Through The Woods

We went to visit my grandmother this past weekend! We really had a good time. The children enjoyed playing their DS the whole way up there. I do not know how they are not blind.

I picked my Mom up and she went with us. I enjoyed getting to talk to her in the car! It is rare that we get to spend that much time together.

We went to the Mall and walked around! It has been ages since I have been in a mall. Target and TJ Maxx are about it for me these days. It is hard to look at those prices and believe people actually pay that. Sorry if I just offended anyone, but the prices are unreal!

I found a salt bowl to set by my stove. I have seen them before and this one was of course on sale! A great keepsake from our trip. The girls each got a webkin and Son got a new belt and two shirts.

When we got there it was COLD! I had packed two skirts and was rather chilly! We went to Target to buy my grandmother a digital camera. While we were there I found two pairs of Capri's that I just love! Definite two new staples in my spring wardrobe.

I was hoping to post pictures from our trip, but it will be old news if I wait any longer! Maybe later...

I am an organizer! Not a surprise to many of you! I love for everything to have a place, not that it is always there, but I know it has a "home."

Spring Break

Wahoo...Here we are. At home, with the whole week ahead of us. I have spent the day doing laundry, cooking several real meals and playing on the computer all day.

I have committed to NO SHOPPING this week. My freezer is stocked with meat and veggies. We have two gallons of milk in the fridge and plenty in the pantry. Did I mention that the children are home? The thought of "ruining" my reputation with all my sales clerk/friends brings tears to my eyes. My children forget who they are and WHOSE they are when we get behind a buggy! I have spend months building this repiore with my fellow workers and one visit with Frick and Frack would do it in!!!

So that is why we are eating out of the pantry. At the end of this week, we are going to pick up my mother and travel up "North" to visit my grandmother for the night. Husband will miss us for the night, but hopefully there will still be something left in the fridge for him when we leave!

Tomorrow I am taking them to have a picture made! It has been a while, I am really looking forward to it! I look back on some of the ones from when they were little, I am so glad I spent the money, even when we did not have it to spend on pictures!

You cannot go back! It was money well spent! My favorite ones are black and white and 11x14 from their shoulders up! They are huge close ups and I love them!!

Having grown up in Marietta, GA, this was very funny to me and I thought I would share! I hope you enjoy it! I know my Mom will!!

Atlanta is composed mostly of one-way streets. The only way to get out of downtown Atlanta is to turn around and start over when you reach Greenville, South Carolina.

All directions start with, 'Go down Peachtree' and include the phrase, 'When you see the Waffle House.' Except that in Cobb County, where all directions begin with, 'Go to the Big Chicken.'

Gerbils and Hamsters Oh My...

The girls have decided to put their money together and get a hamster. I cannot wait for them to get home from school so i can tell them their Aunt has scored them the BIG one! her neighborhood is hosting a huge yard sale in two weeks and her neighbor has a cage and water bottles for $2.00. WaHoo!!

That is music to this thrifty girls ears!

The moral of this story - ASK everyone if they have a cage collecting dust before you sink $30 into one!!!

Typing Is Now Easier

I want to thank everyone who gave me their two cents worth on learning how to type! I have figured out something special about my laptop! On the actual mouse, there is a small button that I can push that turns the mouse off. I know what you're thinking - duh! But it is really tiny. Husband even took my computer one night and tried to disable the sensitivity of the mouse and could not help me.

The other night I was typing in bed with the laptop propped on my knees (kind of high, at eye level) when I noticed the button. HUGE defining moment for me! To memorize the keyboard is just to much! I am a fast typer, but need to be able to glance down, more than I look up! Does anyone understand????

So I now feel so liberated, typing so freely with out skipping around the screen typing all over the place!

Life here is normal! Soccer games last night. Both teams won! Son had a 8PM game. That is so late on a school night. They did not get home until 9:30pm. I had brought the girls home and put them to bed. They have runny noses from all of the pollen.

Hopefully everyone will be well. We are taking the children to my sister's for her third child's birthday party. She is going to have inflatables and games - carnival theme! Circus would have been more appropriate, but I guess she didn't want any more animals???

Two of my friend from College are also friends with Sister and they will be there too! I am looking forward to seeing them! After the party the children have talked us into letting them get a Hamster. We will see if we get it Friday? I wanted to go to a couple of Garage Sales and see if we could find a cage for $5 bucks instead of $30++ Hopefully I can hold them off until Monday to actually get the rat, I mean gerbil or hamster. Speaking of a circus... Here is my Mom and Sister's #4. Oh he is so sweet! I can't wait to get my hands on him Friday (I mean see me Mom and Family)...

Treasurers from My Little Treasurers

Three types of daffodils (the great big fluffy ones smell so good), Little Belles and Wisteria. My girls are always bringing me something sweet inside!

I have our seed packs and egg shells ready to go this week! I am planting a "salsa" garden (tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and cilantro)!! I cannot wait!

We are also putting out a ton of zinnias, three different types. They will love cutting these and bringing them indoors! We are going to try a mammoth sunflower that says 8-12 feet tall... We'll see!!!! ;0)

We had a big breakfast and then went to 11 am church. We then went to Husband's Dad's house for a great lunch and an Easter Egg hunt!

The children had so much fun! After they found a few and shook them, they realized they had coins in them. They are so serious about this hunt!

I am so blessed to have such beautiful children! They actually cooperated with me this year and let me take their picture(s). We were in the yard waiting on their Daddy! He was the last one in the car this morning!!!!! Not Mama!! I spent two hours Saturday night ironing clothes, find shoes that matched and doing everyone's hair! I was on the ball this Easter!!! Now we go to church every Sunday, but we are very casual at our church. So dressing up was a big to-do for my gang this morning!

We were back home around 4pm and we got our bikes down and went for a family ride in the neighborhood next door!! We really had so much fun!

My heiney hurts...it has been a while since I rode a real bike! It wasn't a banana seat that's for sure! You would think with this "chunky-butt" I would have enough padding, but it hurt.

We came home and I showed husband all of the daffodils I have been transplanting! The walk way was is stone pavers and was full of weeds. I hired my cheap labor ($1.50/job) and they wen to town! They actually did a great job cleaning it out! A little round up and we will be completely weed free!

Later I started clearing out the beds where the lantana is starting to come up and sweeping the porch off. They started a baseball game with a large bouncy ball and my LARGE hedge clippers. Husband was the only hitter and Harley seemed to be the only one running back and forth! They are all sleeping good tonight!

Of course I did have to give a round of benedryl tonight! The pollen is so bad. We could use some of that Midwest rain!!! Prayerfully we will all stay well!!! Spring Break is next week...

Easter Egg Hunt at School

I went to Twin C's class today for their egg hunt! Poor Twin M does not ever have any parties put on by her teacher. They have the party-in-a-box that my best friend Apple Dumplin takes in there, but Mr. C does not host anything ;(

This morning I made Peep-Cars for her class! They turned out cute! I also made some for the teachers workroom! I am trying to get on their good side! (Brown-noser!)!!

Day in the Life of a Three Year Old

Today I watched a friends three year old!! It has been a while since I have had the pleasure of a three year old around the house.

His momma, (aka Long Legs), was asked by my other friend (Apple Dumplin') to be in a fashion show/TV commercial for her shop. (Notice she did not ask moi, chunky butt to be in it). ANYWAYS, while long legs was getting ready, her three year old was watching her every move. When she went upstairs to get dressed he proceeded to do-as-Momma-did and paints HIS toe nails. She will probably be mortified that I am posting this, but I had to!!!!















He propped his foot on the coffee table, just like he had seen her do, and painted away. The only thing he did not do like mama, was wait for them to dry. He put his shoes back on so she would not see.


Fortunately he is a talker and immediately told on himself. She went downstairs to examine the damage and to her surprise there was not any!

He very neatly polished his toe nails!!! I love it!

Cake Walk and BBQ

I worked yesterday morning on a PTO newsletter that informed the parents about the upcoming Spring Fling.
My good friend who so graciously agreed to chair the cake walk called to ask who's number I used in the newsletter.....
Fortunately it was the BBQ chairs! She will just refer all calls to the cake chair, but I feel I will need to pay her cell phone bill.

Never before have I found myself saying so many four-letter words. My laptop is great except for the fact that I lay my thumb down when I type. I move the mouse/arrow and do not even realize it. I did not do well in typing in high school and cannot always look at the screen when typing. It Is So Aggravating!!! Does anyone have any advice? Would a wireless mouse work? I need some technie help!!! Wher cousin ere is my comput.............see what I mean ;)

PTO is Consuming Me!

I always have something going on, now it is PTO.

Long story - the girls school was very slack this year and after volunteering to do several things, I was asked to take on President next year. I talked this over with Husband, because it is going to take a lot of my time. After praying about it, I am very excites. My thought is to get in there and work hard this upcoming year, then the next year I can ride it out for the rest of our stay (5th - 8th).
Needless to say, my mind is swimming with ideas! There is so much to do! I am glad we have all summer to get ready!!!

I am making a new commitment to blogging! I have had so many people email me over the weekend asking if we were OK. I did not think I had that many readers. SO...I have to be here everyday around 2:30 for the bus, so this will be my new blogging time.

Husband went out of town last week and we were out of school on Friday, so we were very lazy around here! On Friday we stayed in our PJ's all day. They actually played soccer in the yard (in between the rain showers) in their pajamas! It was a great day!

Treasure Every Momement

I just called my Mother and Sister in total panic! Husband has flown out for business today and I was at Arby's (for a Bible Study) and the TV announced they were evacuating Capital Hill because they could not find an aircraft...

My heart went into overtime. Husband was in the air. Sister was in the car taking one of her four to the Dr. and found it on satellite radio. A PRIVATE aircraft went off radar and was not communicating for a time and THEY panicked.

I broke out in tears waiting for her to find something on the radio about it.

FOCUS - REGROUP.... Our time here is so short. Treasure every moment like its the last. Kenny Chesney sings "Don't Blink" and I mean it!! I miss you Honey!! Love Always!

Remember Me!

My last post was on March 1st. I have been so caught up in coupons, ebay and now Spring Fling at the girls school, blogging has taken the back seat (of the bus...)

I read this article about what to do with all those CVS bags I have been collecting - Crochet a bag. Now if you see me toting one of these, you'll know my life finally slowed up and I am just knittin' and pearlin'!!!!

What a fun Saturday!

First we went to the "Twin Sale" and I found the following for $47.50

8 pairs of size 8 jeans

4 pairs of size 8 shorts

4 pairs of capris

2 size 14 jeans

In my opinion "I racked up!"

Then we went to Home Depot to make the FREE workshop craft. It was a nascar car! They were thrilled! We saw Muffin Top's husband there with their two children!

After that we came home and had PB&j and tomato soup. Again they were thrilled!

Then we put on our PJs and I took them around noon to Brusters for a FREE Ice Cream Waffle Cone - their own cone and they did not have to share! Again they were thrilled!

I had read on a board that CVS had marked their Perfume and Cologne sets down to 90%, but they were not marked (unadvertised sale). So while they were ssslllooowwwlllyyy finishing their cones, . we went to CVS to check it out. Again they were thrilled! Well what did I find you ask?

The MotherLoad! No one else in my little town knew about the deal, so we racked up! Boy Do We Smell Goooood! I saved a couple for gifts, but the rest we are adding to my stockpile garage sale I am planning in a few weeks!

I cleaned my closet out for the garage sale! That was no small task. My garage is going to be filled with junk and stockpile!

Tonight we have the Upwards basketball banquet (free dinner).

So overall this has been a very productive and FREE kind of day!

Daffodils are Starting to Bloom

I took my buddy Harley out to visit the daffodils today!
He loves running and jumping through them.
Here you can see the flowers on the hill going up towards the house.

Here is the second-best climbing tree in the yard. This is also the tree that I found the 5-6 FOOT copperhead or rattle snake. I can’t remember which, but I don’t really care.
It was a SNAKE!

I flew about 25 mph to the back yard, to the garden, on the John Deere, screaming for Husband. He thought I was kidding about the size of it until he saw it.
He chopped its head off and my three brave-no-fear children held it. They even wrapped it around their necks… AHHhhhhhhh.

Anyways back to my pretty daffodils. I love these closeups!
I had my coffee this morning with Kelly, oh and Regis too!!! The rain is so strong! I am glad we dug up some of the flowers yesterday! I plan on taking the 25 pots with us when we move...whenever that will be!!!
